Pakistan Super League 2020 edition went into vain due to COVID-19 fear and all international players left Pakistan before the completion of the tournament. Considering this epidemic and limitations of the flight operations have put a question mark if foreign players will take part in the IPL 13th edition.
Though the IPL 2020 has been suspended until 15th April 2020, the outbreak and extremeness of the COVID-19 made it look impossible.
In a recent press release, Jay Shah BCCI Honorary Secretary in a meeting with IPL franchise owners said,
The BCCI along with all the IPL franchises have reiterated BCCI’s stand of putting safety and well-being of fans, athletes and employees as a priority. The board will continue to monitor and work closely with Government of India, state governments and other state regulatory bodies to decide on the future course of action in the best interest of public health.
However, Govt. of India has suspended all tourist visas until 15th April 2020. If in case BCCI decides to conduct the IPL 2020 after 15th April 2020 with empty stadiums, there will be a very less chance of foreigners players to join their IPL franchises.
The major reason, the temporary suspension of visa service for the foreigners to avoid the Corona Virus spread. Also, the majority of the foreign players has been in self-isolation in their home countries. It would be interesting to see the players joining the tournament.
