The International Cricket Council World Cup 2019 has kicked off with a stunning victory of England over South Africa on Thursday at the Kennington Oval. The colorful and star-studded opening ceremony was held at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, a day before the start of much-anticipated Men’s ODI World Cup 2019.
Just before the start of the opening game between hosts and the Proteas, ICC reached out to New Zealand’s all-rounder, Jimmy Neesham to talk about the signature habits of his teammates.
‘Dishing the dirt’ segment by International Cricket Council has got much popularity as the enthusiastic cricket fans want to know their favourite cricketers beyond the ground. ICC has released many videos in which several players from different teams have dished the dirt on their teammates by disclosing their annoying habits.
From Pakistan, Captain Sarfaraz, Shoaib Malik, Hassan Ali and Imam ul Haq revealed the secrets of their buddies while Jadeja and Rohit Sharma did it for the Indian team. Now it was the time for New Zealanders to discuss their guilty pleasures and who could be a better choice than Neesham to dish the dirt on his teammates!
The Auckland-born Neesham is undeniably the most funny member of the Kiwi squad and his team members love him too. He remained absent from the international cricket for a long time till he was called back by team management and ultimately he made it to the 15 member World Cup squad for New Zealand.
Even during his absence from cricket, he remained popular globally due to his presence on Twitter.
Jimmy revealed that among his teammates, Trent Boult, 28 year medium-fast bowler, loves selfies the most. Trent Boult was also accused of being the one who enjoys romantic comedies the most by Jimmy Neesham.
When asked who is the worst dancer in Kiwi Squad, Neesham named Tom Latham.
Matt Henry is the one who always grabs the mic at karaoke, revealed 28 year all rounder.
On asking to name the person who always yearns for a flight upgrade, Neesham was quick to name Kane Williamson, the Kiwi Captain.
Tim Southee was given the title of worst roommate one can have by Jimmy. When asked why Southee is worst roommate, he replied, “I don’t think you wanna know!”
Trent Boult, left-arm bowler, was also accused of being most self obsessed and the one who googles himself the most by Jimmy.
When questioned about the grumpiest person in the morning, the Auckland-born all rounder named Kane Williamson.
Left-arm all rounder Mitchel Santner was revealed to be the biggest coffee snob in New Zealand squad.
Jimmy Neesham open-heartedly admitted himself to be the one among Kiwis who is always busy with the phone.
New Zealand will lock horns with Sri Lanka tomorrow at Sophia Gardens in their inaugural World Cup match. Kiwis won their warm-up match against India when they limited India to 179 only but lost the other warm up to the West Indians by 91 runs.
